Last night I attended class 1 of a 4 week photography held by Adrian of Aspect Images. www.aspectimages.com.au. The idea is to learn how to use my Digital SLR in Manual Mode."Scary"!! We learnt about ISO and shutter speed. Still all gobbly gook to me but am working it out. I had a play with my camera today.
This was the end result after a few shoddy pics. All I did was adjust the ISO and shutter speeds. There is no flash used.

With this pic, I tried to focus on the cup and blur (slightly) everything else.

Our cyclone damage is apparently getting fixed this Friday. It will be nice to get the tarp off the roof and the star pickets out of the back yard.

YAYYYY!!!!! I am going to see Tim McGraw when he performs in Townsville in September. My wonderful sister (thank you so much Kerry) went on line when the tickets became available this morning and got me some tickets. I am a huge fan of Tim and can't wait.

Mothers Day

My beautiful children gave me this stunning card and a bottle of perfume for Mothers Day.

It has been a rainy, lazy day here. The whole weekend actually. We went socialising Friday night, caught up with BIL and SIL yesterday and then had lunch with friends today.

My son has a school camp this week from Wednesday til Friday so I will have to chase him up to get organised for it.

I have not done a scrap of housework, but it will always wait. :>

I took this pic of my beautiful twin, Wendy and her son Ben at Able Point Marina, Airlie Beach. We walked along the boardwalk that took us into Airlie. It was very peaceful watching the boats for a while.

I took this photo and managed to achieve the exact effect I was after. I wanted to blur the background and focus on the flower. The ant was a bonus :>

I turned (dare I say it)?! 40 this week, i got spoilt by family and workmates and had a lovely day!:>

My handsome son turned 16 this week and got his Learners first attempt. We are going out on a quiet country road tomorrow after he finishes school so I can teach him the gears etc.

Billy turns 16 tomorrow!!! Wendy and I turn the big 40 next Tuesday.!! This afternoon we arrived home from spending a few days in Airlie Beach with my sisters, brother and Mum and families. It was a very relaxing time. I am pretty sure everyone had a wonderful week. We got to meet the lovely Shaz who is beautiful in real life and a person who you feel you have known for years. We have my sister Kerry and Martin and their boys here til Sunday. It is always great catching up with them.
